Substanz has established a partnership with the pioneering material innovation company Grado Zero Lab S.r.l. for the development and production of an exclusive line of accessories and bespoke bags made with their flagship material — MuSkin.

MuSkin is a 100% natural, vegan alternative to leather, made from the cap of a tree mushroom. Its texture and appearance closely resemble suede while being completely free from toxic chemicals. MuSkin is naturally resistant to water and bacterial growth, making it an exceptional material for sustainable fashion and design. Its softness and tactile warmth give each product a unique, soothing touch that many people find “therapeutic.”

As part of this collaboration, Substanz prototyped a range of accessible and playful accessories, including keyrings, charms, bracelets, and card holders, which are to be commercialised through the MuSkin website. The partnership also covers the production of the first batch of 45 accessory pieces, as well as the ongoing manufacturing of future orders in our atelier in Germany.

The accessories are intentionally moderately priced (under €65) to make them accessible to all innovation lovers.

This partnership is an ongoing collaboration, and we are proud to work alongside one of the leading innovators in the materials industry. Grado Zero Lab is renowned for its ground-breaking developments such as Airogel, Space Skin, Spiderweb Fabric, and Caprus Denim, among others.
