Properties: A pearl-coloured, soft material with an inner shine that requires skilled handling. It can be easily moulded into shapes but is sensitive to pressure and requires very thin, delicate tools when being sawn. The material is highly tactile and warm, featuring naturally beautiful surface “wrinkles” that give it a sense of being “alive.” This is a very low-impact material due to carbon absorption and the renewability of algal cultures. It is fully biodegradable and contains no petroleum-based components.


Applications: The material is currently in the development and refinement stage. Potential applications include fashion accessories and interior design pieces.
