Substanz for revoltech

This project explores the possibilities of LOVR™, Revoltech’s proprietary hemp-based material, developed to be fully compostable and rooted in circular design principles.

Substanz was invited to design three lines of three accessible, everyday accessories each, created with longevity, tactility, and material integrity in mind. The collection to be commercially available through Revoltech — includes a cardholder, a laptop sleeve, and a glasses case.

This this the third line of the collection featuring larger, sturdier and quieter designs :

CHUBBY
A clean, minimalist approach focused on function and material honesty. CHUBBY pieces are designed to accommodate larger laptops. The cardholders are also more spacious, making it easier to insert and remove cards without exceeding the standard 110 mm dimensions.

Both laptop sleeves are lined with a hemp–bamboo fleece, chosen to complement the hemp origins of LOVR™ while providing natural softness and protection. The glasses case is reinforced to retain the shape, and the cardholder feature four functional pockets.

All accessories are fully compostable, with the sole exception of the stitching threads, which are composed of a 50/50 cotton–polyester blend.

Each piece is hand-stitched, with hand-polished edges and no edge paint—allowing the material to age naturally and emphasizing craftsmanship over surface coatings.
